One of the reasons goals fizzle is because energy and creativity fade with time. Here are some ideas to help you raise your energy with creativity and fun:
Here are 10 creative ways to keep the energy and vision alive:
- Annual theme = create one word, phrase or short sentence that speaks to your intention for the year. This is not a vision statement; it is a small statement of the “who” you wish to be, and a teeny bit of the “how” – your inspirational North star
- Sticky notes (colorful is good) – write 1 word or phrase, intention or affirmation and stick where you see it. Change/create as-needed.
- Journal –Free flow write, affirm, and celebrate in writing as you take this journey. Breathe and be as you write (not a diary, more like a project or abundance journal)
- Enlist a friend (accountability friend), then give them permission to inspired you, and, give a gentle push when needed. Like an exercise buddy.
- Say it out loud (or write it). Post on Facebook, Twitter or the like. Write a blog … be accountable.
- Retreat – include this on your calendar and in your budget. Daily, weekly, monthly, annually.
- Letter to self – write as if you are in the future, after realizing your goal. Then, give to someone, or create an email with a future date, so it will be mailed to you at the end of the year.
- Vision board – by hand, on iPad, bulletin board …online. Let visuals speak to and for your vision/intention in each element of your life. Focus on balance, breathe with each step of creating this vision, and board. Remember to include a picture of you.
- Dream Box – put dreams on pieces of paper and place them in a box you decorate with art that speaks to your vision. Open as-needed and read. Works best if what you write is stated as an affirmation.
- Get a coach or join a coaching, support, or mastermind group.

I’ve never been much of a journaler Karen, but love creating visual images for my desktop. Pretty fun, quick and easy to create in “Paint” (yup, I’m a PC – but love the creative potential in a Mac – maybe next one).
The ‘annual theme’ works like a HUGE reminder of every little thing you want to create in the year. Whenever I’m tempted to slide a little, my word calls my attention back to bigger and better things in the works.

Miki, we so resonate on the annual theme and how it calls me back. Last year my theme was “connection and play.” Brought this into all I did and it helped make it a more fabulous year. P.S. I’m a PC. You’ve inspired me to revive my tablet and play with Paint. Maybe I’ll import some of my photos and see what shows up. Thanks.
